First Post

Hi All,

This first post is to introduce my new blog, "Math Help with Barry". It's designed to be a place where my math students can all go to get help with questions from class. If you are not one of my students, please feel free to browse and learn.

To post a question, go to the blog posting for your TERM and add a comment that contains your question.

There are a few rules for this blog:

1) No profanity or mean spirited comments. This is about learning. Jokes are OK, as long as they are not offensive. I get to decide what is offensive and what is not.

2) Identify yourself by name, class number, and college.

3) State your question as clearly as you can. Keep it simple. If you need to share symbols, formulas, etc., you can send them to barry.edwards3@mac.com.

4) No questions that do not directly relate to my math classes.

I'll check this blog often for your questions.

    Hi Barry,
    This is Annette F. Mth 243, T&TH morning class. My mother had a heart attack friday and we have been dealing with it every since, she is having open heart surgery at 6am tomorrow, and the Doctor said the surgery will take, at the least 7 hours, if everything goes well. They were going to do it wed. but changed their minds. I can scan my midterm tomorrow and send it via email, or just bring it to class on thurs. If that works for you. You can call me at 503-669-1977 hm or cell 503-839-2537. But please let me know asap, so I can breath easy.

    Could I get one example for problem Quiz #3?
    I am having troubles with problem 4 letter C & D. I understand putting 7ln(0.5)= -4.852 but from here I am confused. And D) I have ln10-ln3=1.204 then again how do I check?

    Be proud of me for giving this blog a try... :-)
